Diablo 3 Release Date announced - or maybe not?
So either the folks at Blizzard have forgotten to announce when Diablo 3 is being released, or Best Buy has it all wrong. My guess is that Best Buy is jumping the gun here, or this is an elaborate hoax. This picture has been posted on numerous gaming sites around the web within the last few hours, now the only question remains, is this real? If it is, we have less than a month away before...

Retro Game Hunt (previously Flea Market Finds) -...
Happy Holidays everyone - hope you all acquired some excellent additions to your gaming collections this year. And if you didn’t, oh well, there’s always next year, or better yet, get off your ass and get them yourself. But enough pleasantries, let’s get down to business. What I love most about holidays, are all the new piles of crap that are making there way into thrift stores,...

Video Game Flea Market Finds - Part #2
It’s been a hectic week, and Christmas is only a few days away, so I haven’t had the chance to update everyone with my pick ups from the last weekend at the local thrift stores. Hell, I haven’t even started Christmas shopping yet. Oh well - games are more important aren’t they? Who needs Christmas - bah humbug. Let’s start off by saying that this past Sunday was the...

Minicraft!
From the makers of Minecraft (Notch a.k.a Markus Persson) - comes his new mini masterpiece - Minicraft! He designed this game for the Ludum Dare competition in which Indie Game developers have just 48 hours to design and create an workable game. This game brings back huge memories of classic 8-bit adventure RPG’s, and I love the elements of Minecraft tied into it. Cheers to you Notch -...

Modern Warfare 3 = Cash Cow, but I still caved
Modern Warfare 3 - I finally caved in, and I can’t say I am surprised. It was just a matter of time. When someone mentions this game to me, one of the first things that comes to my mind besides new guns, new maps, obsessing over K/D ratio, the debate between BF3 vs MW3, and lowering teen pregnancy rates is MONEY. First off, check out this link : Modern Warfare 3 Beats Avatar for $1...

Reminiscing - ET + Sonic the Hedgehog
I’m hoping I can reminisce on more titles I buy in the future, but honestly I just don’t remember playing some of these games. Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. Maybe these games scarred me so profoundly because they were so bad, I just sealed that section of my brain away so I wouldn’t have to relive those horrible memories. Or maybe I just never owned the game in the first...

Hidden Treasure under a Train Station
. It was Sunday morning, my dog was being a pain in the ass and I was unfortuantely on call for work (my day job as a systems admin). I was already answering a few problem related e-mails, but that wasn’t going to deter me from taking my hour break at the local flea market that I discovered the weekend before. I knew the crowds would soon be overcome with the blood-thirsty souls of greedy...

Purpose
So a few people have asked me, “why are you starting a blog? What’s the point?” and then it comes down to, “Why about video games? There are thousands of blogs out there about that.” Let me answer these questions so we can all move on with our lives and get on to the good stuff, which is of course video games. I started this blog for a few reasons - I enjoy...

The Birth of a Gamer Guru - Part 1
I’ll start with a quote, that my pal Dave would have no problem recognizing. And if you recognize them too, then good for you. You’re obviously a fellow gamer. “Stay awhile, and listen.” It’s hard to say when exactly I became obsessed with video games. I guess you can say it was when I first laid eyes on a big half wooden / half plastic box that reminded me of...
